Founder Caroline Allen

VIP Coach

Fiction, Memoir, Short Stories, Scripts, Self-help, Substack

From the newsrooms of Tokyo to London’s Financial Times and The Independent, Caroline built her foundation as an international journalist covering world-defining moments—the death of Emperor Hirohito, Princess Diana’s passing, the fall of the Berlin Wall. A graduate of one of America’s premier journalism schools (University of Missouri-Columbia), she mastered the art of storytelling under the most demanding deadlines across Asia, Europe, and the United States. But when something deeper called—a hunger for authentic voice over manufactured narrative—she walked away to claim her own creative truth and help others do the same.

That decision sparked a remarkable journey, fictionalized in her five-book Elemental Journey Series, which has garnered three Independent Publishers’ Gold Medals and one Silver. Water became an Amazon bestseller. Her recent middle-grade novel BLUE: When Hiding Isn’t Safe Anymore landed a London publisher, demonstrating her range across genres. These are proof that Caroline doesn’t just teach storytelling, she lives it.

For over 30 years, Caroline has guided hundreds of writers worldwide. Her clients’ results speak louder than any credential: award-winning books, bestseller status, major literary agents, and features in The Financial Times and The New York Times. What sets Caroline apart isn’t just her technical mastery of craft, it’s her ability to excavate the authentic story buried beneath fear and self-doubt. From her yurt studio in Oregon, she works with writers across the globe who are ready to transform their manuscripts into published reality. Caroline is also a visual artist.

From Caroline: A manuscript is not just words on a page; it’s the excavation of buried treasure. I co-create with you to excavate, then write, then polish. This work will change you. You won’t just get published and win awards, land agents, become bestselling authors, you’ll discover the transformative power of claiming your authentic voice. Many of my former clients have opened the doors to other creative disciplines, and besides getting published have become performers, musicians, and visual artists.

I guide you through every stage from idea to completed manuscript, on fiction, nonfiction, and memoir. My process is two-fold, focusing on the fundamentals of professional writing—characterization, setting, plot, theme, scene, summary—and listening as an intuitive to what wants to be born.

This is how I live and how I coach. I pay attention to the higher truth that longs for form, then help you with the structure to bring that truth. I believe we are Creators and our creations are sacred acts.

Ellen Newhouse

Associate Coach

Spiritual/Transformative Memoir

Ellen Newhouse is a best-selling memoirist, performance artist, and intuitive guide who understands the profound courage it takes to excavate truth from lived experience and shape it into powerful narrative. As a book coach, Ellen helps writers dissolve the limiting beliefs and emotional blocks that keep their authentic voice from shining through. Blending deep listening with grounded, practical guidance, she creates a sacred and supportive space where writers can integrate their full humanity into their creative work.
The launch of Ellen’s memoir, Nothing Ever Goes On Here, at Seattle’s Georgetown Ballroom before an audience of 175 people became the seed for her one-woman show of the same name, directed by Jolene Adams. The show went on to be performed in Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York’s Hudson Valley, touching audiences with its raw honesty and healing power.

A seasoned acupuncturist and sound healer, Ellen has worked with thousands of clients, mastering the art of guiding people through vulnerability into transformation. She is devoted to empowering mission-driven writers to live — and write — from the wisdom of their hearts, so their stories can uplift, heal, and inspire others.

From Ellen: Every untold story is a wound in our collective heart, every silenced voice diminishes world peace. I believe creativity is medicine, how we heal ourselves and each other. Working with me means embracing discovery and transformation. Sound Healing, intuitive knowing, and traditional editorial wisdom converge in my coaching, because the best books aren’t written from the head alone; they’re sung from the depths. I specialize in memoir: stories about surviving wounds, belonging, finding voice, surfacing from pain, stories that heal both teller and reader. I coach with one foot in the mystical and one in the manuscript. Then we work together to craft your book, so that it lands in a world that is hungry for real stories.”

Whether you’re writing literary fiction, genre work, or exploring liminal spaces between worlds, Court prioritizes your innate sense of purpose and individual style while helping you bring your most vital story to life.

From Court: “As a writer, I rely upon an organic, intuitive creative process that encourages unfettered exploration without allowing my ‘internal critic’ to interfere, keeping the work raw and real and full of that original impetus. I take the same approach as a book coach, functioning less like an ‘external critic’ and more like a supportive, collaborative guide who strives to understand your intentions—what do you want to convey, and how do you need to capture it on the page in order to stay true to yourself, to your artistry? Each writer is an artist, a kindred writer. Your goals are integral to my own, for I see language as integral to our humanity—books are made of words, but words are made of intent, of the creative force inherent within. You hold a story within you only you can tell, and only in your own way and time, and my role as a book coach is to prioritize and protect your purpose as we work together to achieve your writing goals.
